I have a few questions that I hope yall can help me with ??????
Hi this is the first time i have wrote about my fibromyalgia i have been suffering with this for 2 years and i had to give my job up as i carnt move some days with pain in my hip and back and getting very depressed,i have been on the sick since ,but get no help with any house hold cleaning ,i would also like to know if you can get this kind of help as most days i struggle just to get out of bed.
I am on disability due to FM but it is complicated because I was also injured . It got to the point that I just could not work anymore. Actually I don't always function very well anymore. Giving up work has made a difference in my life though. Obtaining disability is a long drawn out process. Once I was finally approved it took 8 months before they sent me my first check. Also it is based upon age so the younger you are the less you get. Either way, in my book it is worth it because when I was trying to work all I wanted to do was find a hole to crawl in and die. It was absolutely awful.
I applied for disability on line. The most important thing is to have the backing from your doctors or you will be turned down. I had several doctors and a physical therapist and was accepted first try. You must have good medical documentation. Good Luck!
It doesn't hurt to apply for SSDI or SSI. However, my friend called a lawyer for help and they said due to the amount of new applicants it's taking a year or so for the decision process. And I worked in the disability field so I know that if your application isn't perfect it will probably get denied the first time around. I was lucky that I became disabled while working and the long-term disability team applied for me and I was accepted within three months. I would suggest possibly working with a disability specialist to help you fill out the application.

Also, some communities have case managers that can help you find someone to help you with your ADL's (Activities of Daily Living). Also, your insurance may cover someone to come in and help you out. Call your insurance company.
during my trial for disability the judge asked if i would be able to perform those tasks. i sid i live with my mother and she is happy to. their point was... if you cannot would you like help in finding someone to come into your home to help with those task. talk to your ss rep and they will direct you
I am not receiving social security, however obliged use to be a SSD paralegal. I would 100% encourage you to apply.... just know though, the process is long and tedious. You MUST have good medical documents . Also, as someone else posted, it can take a year or more to be approved, because the administration is so bogged down with applicants.... start at your local office and go from there....

The only advice I can give you that no matter what problem you have, go with someone to your local Social Security Department, otherwise it will take you for ever, and nothing will be solved. It took over six months to solve my problem, because I used to make phone calls, finally one lady told me to go to a local office and it helped. Wishing you health and happiness. God bless you.
